High Efficiency Boilers

Condensing combi boilers provide gas central heating by circulating hot water through radiators and underfloor heating circuits. These high efficiency boilers provide instantaneous hot water only when a hot water tap, shower, washing machine or dishwasher is turned on, alleviating the need for bulky hot water cylinders and cold water storage tanks. The high efficiency of these boilers is achieved by recycling and abstracting the heat from the exhaust gases where, in non-condensing boilers, the heat present in the exhaust gases is wasted to the atmosphere.

If your boiler is over around 10 years old it probably isn?t energy efficient. Replacing your old boiler with a new condensing boiler can save you around a third on your heating bills straight away. Around 60% of CO 2 emissions from your home are down to your boiler. With an efficient new boiler you could save up to 875kg of CO 2 and ?170 a year. Add in a full set of heating controls as well as a new boiler, and you could increase the total savings to around ?275 and 1.4 tonnes of CO2 a year.
